The experimental green roof at the Shenzhen University College of Engineering designed by the GEO team is entering its second year of growth and doing great. This 500 square meter facility has already experienced a 100yr event.  In May 2014, the green roof and infrastructure did not flood while experiencing a record rainfall (592mm/72hrs). The City of Shenzhen did not fare as well.  Globally,  frequent and more intense storm events are becoming more common, green roofs are a tool to make our urban areas more resilient.
